Currently, I am living in Philadelphia and working for City Year. I work at Universal Vare Charter Middle School in a 6th grade classroom. My team (includes me, 7 other corps members, and my team leader) was asked to create a mural for our school. Due to my art background, I was asked, along with another artist on the team to collaborate on the design of the mural. Today we worked alongside other Americorps volunteers.

A Success
This past Sunday was the opening of my senior art show here at Earlham College. It was quite a success and the weather was perfect! We had a really great turn out. People, both students and faculty enjoyed looking at my work. They had a lot of fun pointing out the people they knew and comparing the drawings with the paintings. The photo on the left is just the paintings, but I will be posting the drawings shortly.
I am very proud of myself for how this project turned out. It was a lot of hard work, but the end result is exactly what I had in mind. I want to thank all of my models. I couldn't have completed this project without them.

It's the final stretch
So, spring break is over. It seems that time has flown by, and specifically March seems to have gone by at an unusual speed. April 10th is the opening for the senior art show here at Earlham. I have been working since last semester on a body of work consisting of both drawings and paintings. It's been a pretty incredible experience. I've watched my work develop and grow drastically over this year and I'm looking forward to showing it. It's an odd feeling though, because I am starting to realize just how invested I have been in this project, and I know that when the show is up I will feel somewhat empty inside (as corny as that seems). I will continue to produce work, however I'm not sure at this moment what my next project will be.
If you're in Richmond Indiana, I would strongly encourage you to stop by and see the art show.
